Kinlochlaich House is a listed building of the 17th and 18th centuries set in its own beautiful gardens on the south facing slopes of the Appin hills, close to the sea with views to the mountains. Laich Cottage is one of three individual cottages and there are also three apartments in the historic country house.
The Hutchison family live and work in the house and grounds which include a fine walled garden, where you will find Scotland’s leading specialist Garden Plant Centre. We also grow our own fruit and vegetables and you may purchase whatever is in season. We have a tennis court and table tennis pavilion.
The Appin area, which includes the picturesque village of Port Appin, is famous for romantic Castle Stalker. It is also an area rich in animal, bird and plant life.
There is plenty to explore locally including walking and cycling trips to the historic island of Lismore. Pony trekking is available all year round, water sports in the summer and golf and fishing nearby.
In the village you will find a garage, craft shop, Post Office and Community Cooperative general shop. There are a selection of local hotels, pubs and restaurants.
Oban, 18 miles to the South, and Fort William, 25 miles to the North, offer holiday shopping, supermarkets and restaurants and each have a whisky distillery which you can visit.
