Manor Cottage is the old Harbour master's cottage right on the sea front in the sought after Cornish village of St. Mawes.
Sleeps 4 people in 2 double bedrooms with additional occasional beds for 2 plus a cot.
Beautifully equipped and furnished as a classic seaside holiday home on the sea front in the heart of the village.
From the cottage window seat by the old Cornish range one can keep watch over St. Mawes Harbour, the blue ferry for Falmouth, the sailing boats and the Scilly gigs.
Summer’s Beach is alive with children playing in the sand.
Up the Victory Steps, Phil, landlord of the Victory Inn stands ready to pull you a pint of Doom Bar.
Nearby there are good restaurants in the Rising Sun, Idle Rocks, and St. Mawes Hotel. A short stroll towards the Castle brings you to the Tresanton Hotel, and its terrace restaurant famous for its style and famous clientele.
Ferries bustle in and out from the Quay, and can take you across to Falmouth, up river to Trellissick for gardens and a cream tea, or over to St. Anthony with excellent walks to Place Manor and the Lighthouse. Nearby there are wonderful places to visit such as The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the National Maritime Museum.

The classic cottage kitchen is fully equipped with dark green enamelled cooker, and all modern appliances including dishwasher and washer dryer. The pine kitchen table under the old white painted beams has a view across the harbour. | | |
The living room has two comfortable sofas and an armchair, set on a deep blue carpet. The shining black and brass Cornish range has been refurbished to provide a real wood burning stove, on which a kettle can be boiled if on wishes to return to the old ways. The window seat has a clear view across the harbour to the Quay, which is a few steps out of the front door. A TV and DVD player are provided. | | |
The store room in the old Pilchard yard allows boat gear and wet suits to be stored safely. The yard leads down beside the cottage through a narrow gate, and could be used to keep a canoe or surf boards. The slipway into the harbour is immediately opposite the cottage.
At the front of the cottage is a patio with a white fence & gate to keep children in, and a bench and table to enjoy the view. |
