Dovedale Cottage is a Georgian wing of the Grade 1 Listed Hartsop Hall, and is at the centre of the working farm. The proerty has fantastic views across the farmland up to Caudale Moor. It is reached by a long farm drive and has plenty of parking and its own garden. The downstairs accommodation comprises an excellent fitted dining kitchen, a comfortable lounge with open fire, and a ground-floor bedroom with en-suite shower room, suitable for wheelchair access. Upstairs are three very large double bedrooms and a family bathroom. We take a maximum of six guests.
There is a pub a short walk across two fields from the cottage. Three miles away, the Village Stores in Patterdale has essentials and a Post Office. Shops, restaurants and cinema are in Ambleside.
Brotherwater is a pleasant stroll away on fairly level ground, and footpaths lead in all directions from the cottage, up Dovedale to Fairfield summitt, Hartsop Dodd, Caudale Moor to High Street. Ullswater is about three miles away, offering steamer cruises, sailing and rowing boat hire.

Dovedale Cottage has a spacious dining kitchen, with a door to the garden and super views up to Caudale Moor. It is fully equipped for six people, with a new electric range cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A pine dining table and chairs complement the traditional character of the cottage. | | |
At Dovedale the living room is very cosy with an open fire and sofas for six. There are fantastic views in each direction to the surrounding fells. Plenty of books and games for wet days. Dovedale also benefits from central heating. There is a television with FreeSat.
Off the living room is a separate roomy single bedroom with an en-suite shower room, which is suitable for wheelchair access. |
