With three bedrooms and two bathrooms this lodge offers our guests lots of options, it also has a sofa bed in the lounge area (please note only 7 persons max. in total). The open plan layout has views towards the Lakeland fells with a door leading onto a balcony that gives even more flexibility. The lodge has a picnic table and garden area - barbeques are available on request.
Next door to us is “the royal oak” pub/restaurant - there are lots of other eateries nearby - ask us for our advice - they are constantly trying to be the top venue, good quality and value is easy to find in this rural area. The city of Carlisle is only 9 miles away with shopping and nightlife to rival any town - it's a 15 minute taxi ride.
The northern lake national park is just south of us with Penrith and Keswick in easy reach. Just beyond Carlisle is the world famous Gretna green and the Scottish borders, Hadrian’s wall runs to the west, the Cambrian way is local to us.
We are surrounded by unspoilt country lanes - ideal for walking or cycling, there's lots of wildlife in the area too.
On site we have a separate lodge that is our leisure suite, it has an 8 person hot tub, infra red sauna, entertainment system and mood lighting - we offer complimentary use of this facility and of the swimming pool, gym, and other leisure activities at Armathwaite hall hotel on the shore of lake Bassenthwaite - a 12 mile drive over the scenic Cumbria fells - simply stunning.
