Cosy cottage furnished to a high standard. Mariner's cottage has a good sized lounge, a dining kitchen, double bedroom, and separate bathroom with shower cubicle.
The lounge settee can be converted into a second double bed if required. Bedding, linen and towels are provided. Heating is by gas central heating plus an electric fire. There is no additional charge for power and heating.
Children and pets welcome.
Allonby is a small village on the north west coast of Cumbria, between Maryport and Silloth, in a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty. Allonby village is quiet, but has restaurants, takeaway and pubs. Eating out is also available in local villages.
Allonby Bay - long sandy beach, with fine views across the Solway Estuary to the mountains of Southern Scotland. The coastal towns of Maryport, and Whitehaven with their marinas lie to the south down the coast. The Victorian seaside village of Silloth, only 10 minutes to North. The historic city of Carlisle with it's castle and attractive shopping centre is within easy driving distance.
Inland from Allonby are plenty of quiet country lanes, with many small villages, with pub meals available.
The magnificent Lake District National Park is within easy reach. Keswick is only 30 - 35 scenic miles away. On the way to Keswick, you will pass beautiful Bassenthwaite Water, famous for its Ospreys.
With coast, countryside, lakes and hills, there is something for everyone, whatever the weather!
