The cottages are situated in 80 private acres. For nature lovers it is possible to see foxes, badgers and deer. For bird watchers there are egrets, kingfishers and buzzards amongst many others.
On the outskirts of the village of Clyst St Mary, near Topsham, The Old Stables are conveniently situated at the gateway to Devon and the Westcountry, and make an ideal base for exploring the whole of this lovely area. Exmouth with its long sandy beach is only a short drive, alternatively visit one of the smaller seaside villages and coves such as Branscombe or Beer.
Dartmoor is wonderful for walking, a vast area of green, broken by rocky tors, where relics of the bronze age and settlement sites can still be seen.
There are numerous family activities in the area including Crealy Adventure Park, Bicton Park and Gradens, and Paignton Zoo.
The City of Exeter with its magnificent Cathedral and Guildhall are also only a short drive away.
