The Bothy stands within the grounds of The Garth, originally a Manse built in 1780 and extended in Georgian times as it stands today.
Initially, The Bothy was built as a out-house for the Manse and has been very well converted into a small self catering cottage, situated in a peaceful location with a river bordering the owners garden.
During the 1930's the local Post Office used to supply the House of Lords with whisky until it was discovered that the local delicacy had been watered down....... Nearby lies Tynron Doon Iron Age Fort which was probably occupied by the Romans during their occupation in this area.
So why not come and enjoy this idyllic setting within this peaceful part of Dumfries and Galloway.
