Innkeepers Cottage is a 4 star luxury self catering cottage set in the centre of picturesque Frosterley village set in the heart of Weardale, County Durham a designated area of Oustanding Natural Beauty.
Dating from the 17th Century this is a superbly renovated character cottage which has charm, character and cosiness in abundance, the perfect place for that romantic break or just taking a step back in time and relaxing in the warm glow of a more nostalgic era, yet having all modern conveniences you would expect.
An ideal location for walking, bird watching or touring the north east region, most places of interest can be reached within a 30 to 60 minute drive of the cottage.
Frosterly has village shopping and post office, church, village hall, steam railway, fish and chip shop and 2 pubs, the Black Bull is the 2008 winner of the most rustic pub award by Alastair Sawday, real ales and excellent food, with early morning coffee and scones, pub lunches and evening dinners, live music etc, open range fires and a warm north east welcome all await you. The larger nearby villages of Wolsingham and Stanhope (both 3 miles distance from the cottage) offer more village shopping, tearooms, pubs and places to eat.
A little further afield are the award winning Beamsih Open Air Museum, the lovely market towns of Barnard Castle and Hexham and Hadrians Wall and of course, Durham City with its world heritage sites of the wonderful Norman Castle and breathtaking Cathedral.
