A comfortable, newly refurbished, self-catering cottage set on a working livestock and arable farm situated in the quiet hamlet of Layer Marney to the south of Colchester. Ideally located for the magnificent Layer Marney Tower (under one mile). Close to Wilkins & Sons Jam Factory and Tea Rooms at Tiptree. Other nearby attractions include: the historic towns of Colchester and Maldon, Colchester Zoo, Abberton Reservoir, Mersea Island, Five Lakes Golf and Country Club, Braintree Freeport, National Trust properties; Coggeshall Grange Barn & Paycocke's, RHS Hyde Hall, The Beth Chatto Gardens, Cressing Temple Barns, Dedham and Constable country to name a few and all within one hour from London by road or rail. The area is perfect for those wishing to relax and unwind or to explore the wide range of wildlife and other activities available in this area of Essex. The local, quiet country lanes are great for cycling and there is a good number of footpaths within easy reach for lovely walks.

Please note that unfortunately due to the steep stairs & low ceilings this property is not suitable for the infirm.
