Harlech’s championship golf theatre and massive castle are just 11 miles whilst Portmeirion Italianate village and Porthmadog home of the Ffestiniog and West Highland narrow guage railways are about 15 miles. A fantastic range of outdoor activities including climbing walking skiing and whitewater rafting are available in the lakes and mountains of the Snowdonia National Park – and a trip up Mount Snowdon itself is a must on foot or by train.
