There is simply loads of things to do - cruise down Loch Ness on the Jacobite, visit our beautiful Urquhart Castle, find out the truth behind our wonderful 'Nessie' at the 5 star Monster Exhibtion; Also horse riding, extreme outdoor pursuits, fishing, mountain bike tracks and golf.
The Stables Cottage proves to be an excellent central base from which to tour the Highlands with fabulous day trips easily manageable to the Isle of Skye, taking in Eilean Donan Castle; or down to the Cairgorm National Park or north to Brora visiting Dunrobin Castle, Anta Pottery and Glen Ord and Glenmorangie whisky distilleries to experience...and taste!
A 25 mile drive with a picnic to Glen Affric is simply unmissable - location to the original film 'Last of the Mohicans' - it is truly one of the most beautiful places you'll ever see.
Wildlife - from the cottage window, you will very likely see roe deer grazing early morning, pheasants, rabbits and a huge variety of birds of prey. You will often see Highland Cows, sheep and cattle on your journeys around the area.
