Note: Guests are asked to leave the cottage by 10am on the Saturday morning and are welcome to arrive from 4pm on the Saturday afternoon. All bedlinen and towels are provided. The Hoose is a newly refurbished fisherman's cottage sitting right on the harbours edge. Lobsters, crabs ect direct from boats
The Hoose has one twin bedded room on the ground floor and 2 double bedrooms upstairs. The upstairs bathroom has a free standing bath, toilet and sink and the downstairs bathroom has a bath with an electric shower, toilet and sink. The Hoose faces south towards the harbour and has a large walled garden to the rear.
Helmsdale is famous for its salmon fishing river and day passes on the river are available from the local fishing tackle shop in the village. The attached barn to the house offers storage for sports equipment and also has drying facilities.
For Golfers there are an abundance of local courses to play and Helmsdale has its own 9 hole course which is exceedingly tricky. Links courses are at Brora, Golspie , Tain and Royal Dornoch all within easy reach. A day trip to play at Cape Wrath is recommended where you can play the most notherly course in the UK.
Walkers will not be disappointed with miles of coast line to explore as well as the river valleys and hills. For more information on Helmsdale visit the village website at www.helmsdale.org.
In the village there are 2 hotels, The Bridge being one to visit for post nights out. There is also the famous fish and chip restaurant La Mirage which is reputedly one of the best in the UK.

Kitchen
The Kitchen at the Hoose has a range cooker with 2 ovens and an overhead extractor, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and larder. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the barn which is accessed by a door in the kitchen. We have several large pans for cooking lobsters and crabs so please feel free to use them.
There is a break-fast bar in the kitchen with 2 stools.
Living Room
The living room has an open fireplace which burns logs and coal. It has the dining table in it by the window where you can watch the boats in the harbour. It is a comfortable room with a newly laid oak floor. A large number of books are in the house and guests are welcome to browse. Also boxed games are kept.
