Quaker Barn is an award-winning holiday house in the grounds of Quaker’s Hall, a Grade II listed farmhouse which dates from about 1700, set in four acres of garden, meadow and orchard. It has been converted into stylish and spacious open-plan living accommodation by an internationally acclaimed architect and his wife. The farm buildings enclose an ornamental herb garden and potager. The barn has a south-facing garden which open onto undulating farmland with lovely views toward woodland and water meadows.
The main space is open plan with large sitting area with wood burning stove overlooked by a raised dining area and kitchen. A sliding window opens onto the terrace and garden. There is a mix of contemporary materials such as marble resin floors and granite worktops with exposed beams, flintwork and panelling.
We are very lucky to have many sources of fantastic local produce: buy meat direct from the farm, vegetables from local suppliers, fish caught at Wells.
The barns are ideally situation between the Norfolk Broads and the coast, each is about half an hour away. The coast has a wide range of beaches from sand at Wells-next-the-Sea, Sheringham and Cromer; salt marshes at Morston and Stiffkey to the shingle beaches of Cley-next-the-Sea and Weybourne.
The Norfolk Broads provide miles & miles of inland waterways to explore where you may hire a motor cruiser, traditional sailing boat or take a guided tour in this wonderfully unspoilt nature reserve, rich in wildlife.
