The house was believed to have been built for a retired mariner so that he could observe the comings and goings of vessels visiting the Tweed since the property has excellent views of the harbour, river estuary and out to sea.
In Tweedmouth a pub, restaurants, a shop and a variety of hot food takeaways are just around the corner and the restaurant area of Berwick is 6 minutes walk away. There are excellent sandy beaches within easy reach and the award winning beach at Spittal is 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes on foot.
Berwick has many interesting walks and the town can be circumnavigated without crossing a road by following the famous Elizabethan Ramparts.
There is much to see and do in the area. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a short drive to the south as are the magnificent castles of Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Seascape is an excellent base for exploring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders whether travelling by car or public transport. The East Coast main line station at Berwick is a short walk away. Pets may be accepted by arrangement.
