Set in an idyllic corner of the Talley Valley The Stables is one of 5 cottages which once were a 16th century farm. It can accommodate 7 in 3 double bedrooms, two of which have washbasins. Fully wheelchair accessible, The Stables has off-street parking for 3 cars. Access is ramped and the cottage, with its open plan interior, offers a relaxed and comfortable venue for the less able and families with small children. The nearest town of Llandeilo is 4 miles and has many quality country shops, 2 supermarkets with their own bakeries and 3 butchers providing local meat. It was the capital of Wales in Romam times and is steeped in history. The Stables are well situated to discover much of the south and west of Wales. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens are only 2 of many gardens open to visitors. Dinefwr Castle, Carreg Cennan Castle and Talley Abbey are each set in a maze of nearby walks. The mountains of the Brecon Beacons with all they offer and the famous beaches of The Gower are both within an hours drive. The Stables are well situated to tour the south and west of Wales and discover the rural beauty of Carmarthenshire. The owner Mrs. Jones has been preparing evening meals for visitors for many years. Her soups, roast dinners and chocolate sponge cake entice visitors to return. A comprehensive menu is available for visitors to order for their arrival. Llandeilo has several excellent restaurants(booking essential) as well as good quality takeaways

Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric kettle and toaster. Willow pattern china, Kings stainless steal cutlery and plain clear glass provides for 8 settings. Pinewood cupboards provide space for food and a pine dresser houses a multitude of cooking essentials. A mat covers the slate floor which is continuous with the hallway. An antique counter divides the kitchen from the dining table which seats up to 8 people. Sun streams into the cottage through small square windows during the afternoon and evening and an automatic gas-fired Rayburn warms the kitchen and dining areas on wintry evenings. (This also heats the water.)
Living Room
A wood burning stove is set in a stone-built corner fireplace provides warmth and ambiance to the L-shaped living area. Original arched windows overlook the gardens and terrace and french doors open onto the terrace when needed. Tastefully furnished with some antiques the living room is comfortable and cosy at any time of the year. Consideration has been given to the decor with pretty curtains, Turkish rugs, leather seating and fresh white stone walls. A basket of firewood for the log-burner is provided on arrival and subsequent supplies available at cost. An evening meal can be ordered in advance and be delivered for your first evening. Gas-fired central heating warms the whole cottage.
