Self Catering Searcher started life as a UK-wide directory of self-catering cottages, apartments, chalets and houses, organised by region and county. This version of the site keeps that same regional structure, but focuses purely on general, honest guidance to each part of the UK rather than a live database of individual properties — availability, prices and ownership details change constantly, and we'd rather not publish anything that goes stale.

If you're looking for an actual property to book, a dedicated self-catering booking site or search engine will have current listings; this site exists to help you decide where in the UK to look first.
