This lovely cottage is part of an old Lakeland barn overlooking the River Gowan in the popular but unspoiled village of Staveley. Perfectly located for visiting the Lakes, the cottage is tucked in a quiet corner but easily accessible by road and by public transport. Staveley Village has lots to offer including a Real Ale Pub, local brewery, famous riverside cafe, artisan baker, butcher specialising in local meats, a tea shop (selling wonderful cakes!) as well as a chemist, convenience store, post office and fish and chip shop ! There are great walks and cycle rides from the door - plenty of maps and guides are provided to help you plan your trips. Details of other activities, including fishing, golf, water sports, gardens and other places of interest are included in the personally researched and frequently updated information folder. Briefly, the accommodation comprises • Entrance hall • Downstairs shower room and toilet • Fully equipped kitchen with separate dining area • Comfortable lounge with patio doors onto a balcony overlooking the river • 2 bedrooms • Additional bathroom/toilet upstairs The cottage sleeps up to 3 in 2 bedrooms (one double and one single). Both bedrooms are double aspect; the main bedroom looks over the river and onto the hills beyond. It has a DVD/TV player and kettle/mugs etc. Outside there is a bench and secure bike store as well as parking for one car.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well equipped with ample crockery, cutlery, pans and cooking utensils. There's a ceramic hob, cooker, combination microwave/grill, dishwasher, washing machine and even a Tassimo coffee machine. For walkers, flasks, picnic boxes and water bottles are also supplied. The kitchen has a separate dining area with a window overlooking the river.

Living Room

The cosy living room is tastefully furnished with leather furniture and original artwork. It has a TV/DVD player and CD/MP3 player. There's a range of CDs, DVDs, books, games, maps and well-researched local information to help you make the most of your stay. The living room has full length patio doors opening out onto a balcony overlooking the River Gowan - the perfect spot for al fresco dining or just relaxing with or book or enjoying the sights and sounds of the river and local wildlife. A small patio table and chairs are provided.

Other Rooms

Downstairs there is a small hall with space for muddy shoes, coats etc and a downstairs cloakroom comprising loo, washbasin and full size shower. Upstairs, the bathroom has a loo, basin, bath and shower attachment. Outsdie there is a wooden bench and a secure bike store. Off road parking for one car. Other parking is available nearby.
