Axminster is a small Devon town, quiet but with many hidden gems. Enjoy a range of eating places including the River Cottage shop and canteen. We are an ideal centre for discovering a delightful, unexplored corner of Devon bordering both Somerset and Dorset. The World Heritage "Jurassic" Coast is just a short drive away. To the North the quiet roads and charming villages of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Somerset levels and Vale of Taunton. Or to the South lie the Devon coastal towns of Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton and the historic port of Lyme Regis in Dorset. Sand and shingle, rocks or promenades—there is variety enough at our World Heritage Site coastline to interest all ages, from Seaton's tramway along the wildlife-rich Axe estuary to Charmouth's visitor centre and fossil hunting. Outside, Kingfisher has access, from a small balcony entrance, to a charming raised terrace. There is a large Ensuite bedroom (bathroom with over-bath shower). Living Room

Graded four stars by Visit Britain, this pretty, thatched accommodation makes a comfortable home from home. This spacious apartment has been created from an ancient thatched barn retaining attractive period features. Delightful views are enjoyed from the cottage and the gardens. On the ground floor there is an attractive, comfortably furnished living room with coalburner effect fire. A light, spacious room with double aspect views across a pretty, hidden valley and our extensive gardens.

Other Rooms

We are members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and try to run the lettings in a greener way. A shared Resources Room holds extensive information about the local area including a "Green File" of interesting visits within ten miles so that you can enjoy a varied holiday virtually on the doorstep and don't have to drive far if you'd rather not.
