Town Tenement Farm retains its character features and yet is warm and comfortable for modern living. For example, the kitchen has a traditional Rayburn - but also a modern dishwasher! The farmhouse overlooks a small pretty courtyard to the south, where the picnic tables are an ideal place to relax and watch the swallows. Outside to the north-west is a private terraced garden, which catches the evening sun. There are three acres of private grounds around the farmhouse, including several lawned and wooded areas, a wildlife pond, and a delightful walk up and around Humphrey's Hill, where there are excellent views of Exmoor. The farmhouse is within the small pretty village of Challacombe, within the Exmoor National Park. Within a short walk (300 yards) from the farmhouse (and over a bridge beside the ford) is a local shop and post office and also a traditional inn, the Black Venus, which serves good home made food and real ales. Challacombe is centrally placed to explore Exmoor National Park and also the spectacular coastline of north Devon, from the rugged splendour of Lynton and Lynmouth on the north coast to the miles of golden sandy beaches at Woolacombe and Saunton on the west coast, all within half an hours drive.

Kitchen

The farmhouse kitchen has an oil-fired Rayburn, which heats the hot water and can be used for cooking, although there is a conventional electric oven and hob as well. There is a fridge and a separate freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave, toaster, electric kettle, and even a coffee maker. The separate panelled dining room has a large oak table and chairs, and a small sofa and TV so that it can be used as a second living room. The scullery provides a downstairs WC and a washing machine and dryer.

Living Room

The spacious living room has a stone flagged floor and a large stone inglenook fireplace, with a wood burning stove. There are two large sofas, an armchair, and a TV and CD/DVD/VHS player. The Georgian pane windows face south and overlook a pretty courtyard.

Other Rooms

Living room, kitchen, dining room, scullery with WC, all downstairs. Three bedrooms upstairs (a double and two twins), a bath room and a shower room, both with WC.
