Primrose Cottage is a Grade 2 listed building dating from around 1625. It boasts numerous period features including oak beams, pine panelling and an inglenook fireplace housing a wood-burning stove. Among the 21st century facilities are gas central heating, TVs and DVDs. The house is compact and quirky, with limited headroom in places and steep stairs, so it will not suit everyone. However it is well appointed and tastefully furnished throughout. Accommodation is arranged over three floors. On the ground floor is the living room with sofa and wing-back armchairs. The fully equipped kitchen includes a table and four chairs. Moving up a floor, the main bedroom has a comfy double bed in cast-iron style. On the same floor is a small, seaside-style bathroom. The second bedroom is on the top floor, with two single beds. Owing to the very steep stairs this attic room is unsuitable for under-11s or anyone with an infirmity. Outside is a small, secluded courtyard with garden table and chairs. A lock-up garage is available for guest use in a nearby street. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior agreement. A wide range of amenities may be found within two or three minutes' walk: supermarket (7 days till late), shops, banks, restaurants, pubs, cafes, etc.The mainline station is just a few minutes further on foot. Unspoiled Sandwich Bay is under two miles. Other places to visit include Canterbury, Deal, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Dover. Or why not a ferry trip to France?
