Dating from AD 806 according to the Domesday survey of 1086 this unique property was once the resting place of monks and Knights Templar who fought in the Crusades. The present building dates from 1770 and its interior retains the inscribed ledger Yorkstone floor in the kitchen the carved stone font in the living area painted ceilings in the mezzanine bedrooms arched window heavy church doors and a brass bedstead in the bedroom. Its secluded wooded setting boasts lovely rural views and the fascinating Wolds Lincoln’s cathedral and castle antique shops nature reserves and the coast are easily accessible.
