The Malt House is a comfortable and peaceful self-catering holiday cottage near the border of Devon and Somerset, in the heart of Exmoor National Park (an area of outstanding natural beauty situated in south-west England). The accommodation, with beds for up to 4 people, offers the perfect base for recreational activities such as walking, cycling, hiking, riding and painting, for exploring pretty local villages such as Dulverton, Dunster, Winsford, Exford and Porlock, or for simply enjoying Exmoor's beautiful valleys, moorland and coastline. Wimbleball Lake, with opportunity for watersports and fishing is close by. The Malt House was part of the old 'Hare and Hounds' inn in the hamlet of Exton and now shares a cobbled courtyard with the owners' house. The ancient village pound, with lovely views over the Exe valley, forms the Malt House private garden. The accommodation, all on the ground floor, is full of character with ancient beams and an inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove. The comfortable and spacious kitchen, living & dining area is open plan. The two bedrooms have pleasant garden views. The bathroom includes the w.c. and bath with shower above. Heating throughout the accommodation is by off-peak electricity (included in price) and a supply of logs is available. Off-road parking is provided. Children are welcome - with a well-stocked games cupboard - but we are unable to cater for smokers or dogs.
