Masham the gateway to Wensleydale, situated at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales To the west the Pennine Hills and to the east Vale of York. Set in unspoilt countryside there is plenty to see and do in the immediate area and it is an ideal base for touring further a field. There are many good dining pubs in the area and award winning restaurant in Masham also Swinton Park Hotel with leisure centre. In Masham there are Theakstons Brewery and The Black Sheep Brewery both do tours, lovely river side walks, tennis, golf and bowls and day fishing. Masham is ideally situated for visiting the interesting towns of Ripon, Harrogate and York to the south and Hawes and Richmond to the north. There are a good many historic houses and garden in the area with the abbeys if Jervaulx and Fountains close by.

Converted from one of the old dairy buildings this cottage has a contemporary interior and its own private patio. Waterfront House is a delightful property. It has a 5 star 'Visit Britain' rating and sleeps 6 in one double 'four poster' bedroom with ensuite shower and two twin rooms with house bathroom. Colour T.V.'s are provided in all the bedrooms. Bed linen (duvets), towels, gas central heating and electricity are included in the rent. The breathtaking Yorkshire Dales, Nidderdale, Wharfedale, Wensleydale and Swaledale are all within easy reach. So, too are the North York Moors and all the various villages around. Equally close at hand is the City of York, the interesting town of Thirsk, home to the James Herriot Museum, and the elegant Spa town of Harrogate with excellent shopping facilities and the famous Betty's Tea Rooms and Harlow Carr Gardens. The historic and beautiful village of Ripley with its Castle, deer park and gardens is just a 10 minute drive, as is the ancient, World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal with its water gardens and deer park. Equally close is Newby Hall which is well worth visiting. Brimham Rocks is another nearby attraction and the village of Masham with its weekly market and famous Black Sheep Brewery. The area is a walkers' paradise and there are also plenty of sports facilities nearby, swimming, golf, etc. For the young and the young at heart a trip to Light Water Valley with all its rides and attractions will provide a fun day out. There are an abundance of excellent pubs and restaurants throughout the whole area.
