Rowthorne Village is an ideal location for that relaxing care-free break at anytime of the year. The village is only a 5 minute drive from junction 29 of the M1 yet it is almost in another world, set in the heart of beautiful Derbyshire countryside. There are ten houses scattered throughout the village with two working farms, both arable and live stock. Pear Tree Farm itself was a working farm up to about twenty-five years ago when the farm and its outbuildings fell into disrepair. The then owners (Chatsworth Estate) decided to sell the property as five separate units and each one has been lovingly restored to a very high standard Expertly converted in 2003 providing luxury self catering accommodation for a maximum of 4. There are two en-suite bedrooms. The ground floor suite has a luxury double bed, fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers, a full length mirror, a hair dryer and a full window wall. TV and DVD player. The en-suite shower room has a double sized shower cubicle with power shower toilet and wash basin. The loft suite is accessed from the staircase in the lounge and offers a twin bedroom, with wardrobe space, chest of drawers, bed side tables and TV. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash basin and toilet. The barn has fully automatic (oil fired) central heating (the cost is included in hire charge), with constant hot water all year.

Ploughmans Cottage

Ploughman's Cottage is 6 miles West of Junction 30 M1. The cottage is carefully maintained, very comfortable and well planned. There are small shops within half a mile. We have llamas and sheep and our hens will provide your eggs. We offer a grazing paddock for a horse or pony. There are pleasant rides across the fields to the woodlands of the Moss Valley. Renishaw Hall home of the Sitwell's is less than two miles from the cottage and we would recommend a visit to see the marvellous gardens and museum. To the East are Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall. Into Nottinghamshire a visit to Clumber Park is a must. Children will enjoy visiting the Creswell Crags and learning about the Ice Age, seeing the Major Oak at Edwinstowe and perhaps you might like to take them to the dungeons in Nottingham! We have Chesterfield with the Crooked Spire and Market Stalls. Sheffield's Cathedral, Shops and Botanical Garden's and Rotherham's Magna Centre which is a must for teenagers who will be amazed at the activities on offer. Within half an hour you can be in the Peak District at Bakewell or Chatsworth House. Matlock Bath is always worth a visit with lots of interesting small shops and the Cable Car ride up to the Heights of Abraham. There is a Mining Museum with lots of activities for children and a visit to one of the Lead Mines usually ends with the children panning for gold. However there are also plenty of quiet places for walking, picnics and enjoying the wonderful scenery.

Millcroft House is ideal for a large family and boasts a conservatory a games room and a large fully enclosed lawned garden with patio area.
