The village is situated on the South East coast of Lewis with magnificent views overlooking Loch Shell, the Shiant Isles and across the Minch to the Isle of Skye. It is ideally placed for hillwalkers, fishing and bird watching. The cottage is well placed for guests with a variety of pursuits in mind, whether into hillwalking, trout and sea fishing or bird watching. There are dozens of brown trout lochs nearby, most of which can be used free of charge. Permits for salmon and trout fishing can be obtained on request. For golfing enthusiasts there are Golf Courses both in Stornoway (18 Holes) and also Scarista in the Isle of Harris (9 Holes). Golden and Sea Eagles and other form of wild life populate in this area and are a joy to watch. The property is double glazed and electric storage heaters are fitted throughout. We provide a Patio Table complete with chairs and recliners for use outside. It is envisaged that a BBQ area will be constructed shortly so guests can further enjoy the outdoor ambience during the delightful Hebridean Summer evenings.

Situated close to the shore in the sleepy seaside village of South Galson, the location of the property is ideal for those looking for a private and peaceful Scottish retreat, yet it is only a 25 minute drive to Stornoway. The chalet benefits from stunning coastal views, but why just look at it when you can be on the shore in a matter of minutes? There is also a small garden area in which you can relax. Bed linen and towels will be provided which are for use in the chalet only. We ask that you bring your own for the sunny days at the local beaches. Hairdryer provided. Electric heating throughout. Rental periods run from Saturday to Saturday. Inside the chalet is a smoke free zone; however you are welcome to smoke outside on the deck area. Sorry but we do not accept pets. Lewis is an island of outstanding natural beauty with its dramatic coastline and beautiful beaches. Many visitors come to see the Callanish Stones, however the island is also perfect for walking, cycling, surfing, fishing and bird watching. There are several stunning sandy beaches within a 15 minute drive one of which also has a fabulous children’s play park in the dunes. For those who enjoy wildlife you may be lucky enough to see seals, dolphins and otters or eagles. Stornoway is worth a visit, the capital of the Western Isles. Here you will find tennis courts, a golf course, restaurants, shops, a museum, a castle, supermarkets and a leisure centre. A regular bus service runs from the end of the road.
